Friday Bazaar at Camp Eggers
Today I was able to get out to visit the Friday Bazaar at Camp Eggers. Cool stuff - probably much more expensive that what I'd pay at a local vendor, but that's not much of an option anyway. All in all it was a nice chance to see something more than the inside of the villa......
Here's today's score: A rug for my room and a Martini-Henry.
The stamps all seem to match, but I'm guessing that the rifle is probably a Khyber Pass copy. For what I paid for it ($60), thought, I'm not terribly worried. The bore is atrocious - a trace of rifling amidst the corrosion. I have *no* intention of ever firing it, but it and the rug will make a nice addition to the man cave......

Brian: Thanks for the update. The rifle looks cheesy but no one else in Winder will probably have one. Your villa looks positively luxurious - no more sympathy from me.
I miss our Sunday evening chats and seeing your sweet face. Steve and family are coming to Highlands for Thanksgiving - check out Catie Ray's facebook page for a look into the mind of a 13 yr. old girl - its a little scary.
We are doing well. Fall is coming to the mountains.
Love you much - Dad
So what's the plan for getting that through customs? Or will it arrive home by FedEx?
Also, what about a pretty rug for our house? I'd like to put in an order for a non-man-cave rug please.
In theory since the rifle is pre-1899 it is not considered a 'firearm' and can be mailed via USPS. I think there's some forms I have to track down, though....
I've got plans for a non-man-cave rug for the house - we just need to talk about budget, size, colors, and patterns.....
